Diary

18/11/10
Today we began filming for our documentary. We first went to the antique shop where we interviewed Derek Hall an antique dealer. We asked him about the customers that come in his shop and the varying levels of obsession and money spent. We also filmed cutaways of the antiques in the shop.
We then went to the staff room at Rode Island Cafe and interviewed Jess Hayden a girl who is obsessed with Xena the princess warrior. We asked her about her obsession, how it affects her life, how much money she spends on it and how it affects the lives of others.

19/11/10
Today in lesson we finished some work for the blog and started logging the footage of the interviews with Derek and Jess.

20/11/10
Today we continued logging the footage and we also started story boarding our title

We then went to the Rode Island coffee shop and interviewed Jess Hayden a girl who is obsessed with Xena the warrior princess. We again asked her about her obsession and how it affected other people.

28th October 2011

Today we went to town and filmed voxpops, we asked 10 people near the market what there obsession was, whilst doing this we tried to bear in mind the gender and age so that we could vary them. We then asked another 10 people the same question but near Bridge Street. Once all the vox pops were done we then went to Millennium comics and interviewed the owner Daniel Nash about the kind of customers her get and are any of them obsessed?

31st October 2011
in todays lesson we got a date when we could go and film the physiology teacher Gemma Williams. As a group we also decided what dates we were going to do what. We have decided that the next thing we need to do is film the opening sequence.

1st November 2011
Today we started putting the archive footage and still pictures on to the documentary which would be used a cutaways or something for the voice over to talk over. After college we went to Dans house to interview him about his obsession of Oasis.

2nd November 2011
In the lesson we started to capture all the footage of Dan and then went to interview two of dans friends where we used the blue screen. 7th November 2011
Today we captured the footage of Angela which is Danielle’s mum which I filmed the same night as Danielle. Once we had captured that we then went on to the footage of the opening sequence. We then started to make a rough cut of the vox pops.

9th November 2011

11th November 2011
By the end of today’s lesson we had put most of our footage on to the timeline which was going to be the rough cut and then we started to think of what kind of music would fit to the documentary taking into consideration the audience research questionnaire.

15th November 2011
Today we started to use keying on premier pro so that we could change the background to make the mise en scene relevant for Dan’s friend Seb.
18th November 2011
Today we started to make the rough cut final to make the it run more smoothly and stared to add music to the opening.

30th November 2011
today we started to insert some pictures in the vox pops to some of the things which people mentioned. And made the vox pops really snappy.

6th December 2011
we had thought of a better idea for the opening title sequence and started to refilm, the other one we found out wasn’t good enough.

7th December 2011
today we captured the new title sequence and started to put that on tp the documentary timeline.

13th December 2011
We started off by making a plan for our print advert and then went out to try and take a picture for the advert. The whole of the documentary was too long and needed to cut some, we cut some of the interview with Gemma Williams.

14th December 2011
Today we finished out documentary and so we started to work on the print advert.

15th December 2011
