Stereohype ( A short mixed Documentary)
Type of DocumentaryThis documentary is a mixed documentary. It includes interviews, archive footage and narration.
Themes
Themes include views of the public, music, stereotypes, culture, religion and media.
Narrative Structure
The narrative structure is linear.
Beginning - Beggins looking at diffrent people lifes and how they feel about steriotypes and how they deal with them.
Middle - What people think are bad about stereotypes and how they think it will be better if they change or didnt exist? How the people are affected by stereotypes.
End - Explains why people being diffrent is good and whats good about stereotypes. explanations about stereotypes.
Camerawork
Close ups of some people who are going to be interviewd in a kind of voxpop series of shots, to show that these are the people who are important and who are involved in the documentary. Head and shoulder shots are used in the interviews, slight zoom in on a mans face could resemble importance.
Mise en Scene
The interviews all have relevant Mise En Scene for example the University Student, has been filmed on location and so her background is her house, which matched with her stereotype problem. a lot of the cliups have been filmed in a street to show all the diffrent types of people and this is relevant mise en scene.
Sound
Diegetic sound of interviews and narration is used, non diegetic of the diffrent music used in the backgrounds.
Archive Material
Archive footage of Obois music video, the first interviewer working in his shop,
Graphics
Simple white graphics are used, again, so the viewers are not detracted from what is going on on screen. these graphics are also used to introduce people when they come onto the screen.
